Along the way you will be entertained by an interesting series of anecdotes and trivia from your on board narrator as well as a stop at the intriguing Surrey Museum in Cloverdale.
Fort Langley is a National Historic Site with all the staff in period costume of the 1800`s. A tour of the workings of the Fort is included with fabulous photo ops during your visit. While at the Fort you will be treated to a `Fur Traders Lunch` in the Full Barrel Cafe. RIVER TOUR FIRST: Journey back through time on the Fraser River's only Authentic Paddlewheeler Riverboat, the MV Native from the Historic City of New Westminster, up the Mighty Fraser River to the Birthplace of BC, Fort Langley. The lush Coast Mountain Range provides a breathtaking canvas of BC from a "River point of view" as you enjoy our informative and entertaining narrator taking you to the past, present and future of the Fraser River, the "Gateway to BC's History".
We will travel under six bridges ranging from the oldest operating rail swing bridge in BC, built in 1904, to the huge ten traffic lane bridge on the Trans Canada Highway, destined to open in late 2012. As we continue our approximately three and a half hour voyage, you will partake of a wonderful buffet lunch while passing Native Fishing Villages, Float Home communities, Provincial Parks, Riverfront RV Parks and breathtaking mountain views.
